The philosophy
With the natural light that floods every room and which inspired its name, LUMA opened its doors in November 2023 to offer an experience where the warmth of Italian cuisine and gastronomy blend seamlessly.
That's why LUMA isn't just your typical Italian restaurant; it's a modern trattoria where traditional and contemporary options come together in perfect harmony

The neighborhood 
LUMA is located in a neoclassical building at 2 Ferekidou Street, Mets, one of the most picturesque bohemian districts of Athens, a few meters behind Kallimarmaro.

The place
The ambience of LUMA is like a delightful journey through Italian culture,
combining the charm of tradition with the excitement of modernity. Step inside and you will find yourself surrounded by the cosy embrace of stone, wood, and marble, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Everywhere you look there are carefully chosen touches of vintage flair, from the charming retro crockery on the walls to the vibrant posters that capture the vibrant spirit of Italy.

From an architectural point of view, LUMA's neoclassical building, which has preserved its traditional character, is divided into 4 rooms. Upon entering, you are greeted by a warm room that immediately transports you to a hidden trattoria in the alleys of Naples. As you move into the room, the open kitchen with the pizza-oven comes into view. This is the second level of the restaurant, where the Italian riviera influences are evident. As you ascend the stairs, a new vista unfolds before you. The third level reveals a terrace offering a panoramic view that beckons visitors to enjoy the enchantment of every season, open throughout the year. Yet, the most secluded gem of the restaurant lies below ground level. In the specially crafted walk-in cellar, adorned with just a few tables, you will find a haven of intimacy where you can savor your dining experience in peaceful seclusion.

"Al Dente makes you smile"

At LUMA, our idea of a modern trattoria is to combine the best of both worlds, traditional and modern. Authentic Neapolitan pizzas, handmade pasta prepared
before your eyes every lunchtime, a tempting selection of elegant starters and delicious desserts, all carefully curated by our Executive Chef, Kostas Karakostas

Our dishes are all about quality ingredients, with a special touch that celebrates the flavours of each season. Among the permanent menu dishes, the Focaccia con Stracciatella di Bufala stands out as the ideal starter to share, while the first
courses include the traditional Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe and the rich Carbonara with Neapolitan Paccheri pasta.


Pizzas worth trying include the Amatriciana, which elevates the popular pasta sauce, and the white Mortadella e Pistachio, bursting with intensity and character.
Finally, the Costoletta alla Milanese is one of the most distinctive proposals, thanks to its crunchy texture and the combination of flavours it offers in a single dish.
